GENESEO, N.Y. - The Geneseo Chamber Singers and Spectrum Women's Ensemble will feature works by Wilbye, Brahams, Dawson, Gershwin and Haydn during their joint spring choral concert at 8 p.m. April 30 at St. Michael's Episcopal Church, 23 Main St. in Geneseo. Gerard Floriano, professor of music in the School of the Arts, will conduct both performances. A David Hurd will provide piano accompaniment for Spectrum. The concert is free and open to the public.
The Spectrum Women's Ensemble will perform Come Shepherd Swains by John Wilbye; Three Sacred Choruses, op. 37, by Johannes Brahams; King Jesus is A-Listening by William L. Dawson featuring soloist Amanda Skinner; and Three Settings George Gershwin, arranged by Geneseo student Louis Lohraseb and featuring soloists Iris Malfetano and Shelly Massachi.
The Chamber Singers will perform Franz Josef Haydn's Missa Solemnis in B-Flat. The work will feature three solo quartets: Danielle Relyea, Amy Joscelyn, Chris Blasting and Michael Radi in the Kyrie Gloria; Laura Best, Antonia Laruccia, David Keyes and Devon Borowski in the Credo Sanctus; and Janine Hardenburg, Leora Bernstein, Matt Romanow and Alex Szczepanski in the Benedictus Agnus Dei.
