Princeton Review Places Geneseo on ‘Best Value’ Colleges List for 2013

GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo is among the nation's 150 "Best Value" colleges and universities, according to The Princeton Review. The education services company has profiled Geneseo in its latest book, "The Best Value Colleges: 2013 Edition," and on a special area of its website.

The book, subtitled "The 150 Best-Buy Colleges and What It Takes to Get In," profiles 75 public and 75 private colleges the Princeton Review designates as "best values" based on more than 30 data points covering academics, cost, and financial aid. The company chose the 150 schools from 650 colleges and universities at which it conducted institutional and student surveys for the project in 2011-12.

In its profile of Geneseo, the students surveyed by the publication said the college "provides them with an outstanding education at an affordable price...Geneseo has a great atmosphere, challenging classes, a wonderful student population and the best price!"

USA TODAY, the Princeton Review's publishing partner for the project since 2009, has posted the Company's 2013 list and an exclusive database of "Best Value Colleges" information at a special area of USA TODAY.com..

Says Robert Franek, Princeton Review's senior vice president/publisher, "We commend SUNY Geneseo and all of our extraordinary 2013 'Best Value Colleges' for their stellar academics and for all they are doing to make their colleges affordable, especially for applicants with need in these tough economic times."

The company also named Geneseo one of the best institutions in the country for undergraduate education in the 2013 edition of its annual guide "The Best 377 Colleges," published last August.

The Princeton Review is a privately held education services company based in Massachusetts. It is not affiliated with Princeton University and is not a magazine.
