Embedding images into discussion forums, wikis and blogs

To Embed Images into Discussion Forums:Embedding Images

  1. Click on the Course Materials tab.
  2. Hover over an existing Discussion Forum and click the Settings link. Or create a new one by clicking on Add Content and Discussion Forums.
  3. Make sure your Advanced settings are checked.
  4. In the Content tab, in the directions box (outlined in red in the figure to the right) click the Insert/Edit Image button (outlined in blue in the figure to the right). An Image Properties window pops up and you can browse for your image, preview and adjust it, and then click OK. You will see it in your Content tab window. Scroll down and click the Save button at the bottom of the page.

 

To Embed Images into Your Wikis and Blogs

To Upload your image to myCourses:

  1. Click the Manage tab, Course Files Manager, Add Content, Upload Files.
  2. Click Browse and choose the image that you would like to add. Click Upload File.
  3. Copy the URL (link for your image) and click Done. Then Exit Course Files.

 

To Embed the image into your Wiki or Blog:

  1. Click on the Course Materials tab.
  2. Choose an existing Wiki or Blog and click the Settings link. Or create a new one by clicking on Add Content and either a Wiki or Blog.
  3. Make sure your Advanced settings are checked.
  4. Insert the following syntax into the text area of your wiki or blog where you want the image to appear: [img[alt text|image url]] In the syntax, "img" indicates that what follows is an image. The “alt text” is any name you want to give your image that will show up if the image cannot load properly. The “image url” is replaced by the link of your image's location which you just created. Click Save.
