CALENDAR OF EVENTS FOR OCT. 7-13

THURSDAY, OCT. 7:

FILM: The Alan Lutkus International Film Series presents the film "La Promesse" (The Promise). In French with English subtitles. Igor and his father, Roger, are making a decent living renting apartments to illegal immigrants and sometimes making them work illegally (among other scams). But when the building inspector pays a surprise visit and immigrant Amidou falls off a scaffold in his hurry to hide, things start to unravel, particularly when Igor makes a promise to the injured Amidou that ultimately exposes the different values of Igor and Roger, and of Amidou’s wife, Assita. The discussant is Margaret Matlin of the psychology department. 7 p.m., Bailey Hall Auditorium (135). Free and open to the public.

LEDERER GALLERY EXHIBIT: The Bertha V.B. Lederer Gallery in Brodie Hall presents a SUNY Geneseo Faculty Art Exhibition. The exhibit will feature work by Douglas Anderson, Patrice Case, Dan DeZarn, Toni Hill, Tom MacPherson, Julie Popken, Carl Shanahan, Luvon Sheppard and Michael Teres. The gallery is open daily from 2-4:30 p.m. and Thursdays 12-8 p.m. Free and open to the public. The exhibit runs through Friday, Oct. 8.

OPUS GALLERY EXHIBIT: The Opus Gallery in the MacVittie College Union presents the SAA Installation Show. The gallery is open daily from 1-5 p.m. Free and open to the public. The exhibit runs through Sunday, Oct. 10.

SPORTS: Women’s Soccer vs. University of Rochester. 4 p.m., Saratoga Field. Free and open to the public.
