THURSDAY, NOVEMBER
8:
MILNE LIBRARY: The Corporate and Business Partners of SUNY Geneseo are sponsoring the Heavens
Above exhibit, a series of
transparencies and interactive media from deep space captured by the Hubble
Space Telescope while orbiting the earth over the past 16 years. The exhibit will be on display from
August 27 to December 17. For more

LEDERER GALLERY: School of the Arts and the Bertha V.B. Lederer Gallery in Brodie Hall,
present Roland Freeman's "Mule Train: A Journey of Hope Remembered". The
gallery is open noon-4 p.m. Sundays–Wednesdays and 5-8 p.m.
Thursdays-Saturdays. The exhibit

LOCKHART GALLERY: School of the Arts and the Lockhart Gallery, located
in the McClellan House, 26 Main St., Geneseo presents Roland Freeman's "Some
Things of Value: African American Expressive Culture". The exhibit runs through
Saturday, November 17. The gallery is open noon-4 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays and

DISCUSSION: "U.S. Interventionism: From Guatemala to Iraq" will
be presented by Tom Melville and George Mische at 7 p.m. in 204 Newton
Hall. Melville and Mische have
extensive backgrounds in U.S. foreign policy and U.S. involvement in Vietnam,
Latin America and the Middle East. They have spent over 40 years bringing
awareness to the American public regarding the deadly U.S. international
entanglements around the world and have worked extensively to change the U.S.
government's public policies. The discussion is sponsored by the Departments of Anthropology, Foreign Languages and
Literatures, Geography, History, International Relations, Political Science and
Sociology, and organized by the Latin American Studies program. For more

MUSICAL: "Pacific Overtures" with music and lyrics by Stephen
Sondheim; book by John Weidman; directed and choreographed by Randy Kaplan and
musical director, Jack Johnston. 8 p.m., Alice Austin Theatre in Brodie
Hall. The musical runs through Sunday, Nov. 11 with Sunday's performance at 2
p.m. General public $7, faculty/staff/seniors $6, and students $5.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER

PERFORMANCE: The Limelight and Accents Performing Arts Series will
present Belly Dance Superstars at 8 p.m. in Wadsworth Auditorium. This premier
belly dance troupe has performed 375 concerts in 16 countries in just three
years, wowing over one million enthusiastic fans in venues and 80 million on
television with their fascinating live performances. Performing a cross-section
of tribal, Egyptian and cabaret styles, the Belly Dance Superstars exhibit an
intoxicating spectacle that transports the audience to a distant time and place
while stimulating all the senses. Tickets are $5 for students, $7 for 12 and
under, $12 for faculty/staff/alumni, and $15 for the general public. To purchase tickets, call the Student
Association Ticket Office at (585) 245-5873 or (800) 525-2070. The SUNY Geneseo
Limelight & Accents Series is funded by mandatory Student Association fees
and coordinated by the college's Activities Commission.
DANCE: A square dance with the Geneseo String Band will be
held at 8 p.m. in the MacVittie College Union Ballroom. Admission for the general public is $3,
students $1 and 12 and under are free.
SPORTS: Men's hockey vs. SUNY Cortland. 7 p.m. in Wilson Ice
Arena at Merritt Athletic Center.
GALA: "A Gala For Change" is being hosted by M.A.C. & FACE AIDS. The event is a fundraiser for Partners
In Health and Faith's House of House and will consist of an art auction, a
traditional Kenyan dinner and live music.
The event will be held from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10 at the Interfaith
Center, 11 Franklin Street, Geneseo, NY.
Tickets are $20 at the door and $10 for students. Although not required,

ORCHESTRA: The New Energy Jazz Orchestra featuring SUNY Geneseo faculty Jonathan Kruger and David Gibson are
joined by Rochester's elite jazz performers led by Dr. Carl Atkins. The group performs all original
compositions including The Sands of Time by Carl Atkins, Wishful Thinking by
Jonathan Kruger and The Dance by David Gibson. 8 p.m. in Wadsworth Auditorium. General public $5, students $3, tickets available at the
door.
