Homecoming Packed With Activities, Events for Alumni
GENESEO,
N.Y. – The State University of New York at Geneseo Classes of 1999 and 2004
will receive special recognition during the college’s Homecoming festivities
Sept. 25-26 on campus.
“We have
wonderful Homecoming activities planned for all alumni but are reaching out to
those celebrating their five- and ten-year reunions with a special celebration
Saturday evening,” said Rose Anderson, assistant vice president for alumni
relations at Geneseo. “Returning to your
alma mater always has special meaning and allows alumni to rekindle friendships
and make new connections. We’re looking
forward to a great weekend.”
Friday highlights
of this year’s Homecoming include the 3rd Annual Friday Knight 5K
Race/Walk at 5:30 p.m. sponsored by Geneseo’s cross country and track and field
teams; an alumni/student talent show from 6 - 8 p.m. in the Village Park; and a
performance by comedian Eliot Chang in Wadsworth Auditorium at 9 p.m.
Saturday
events include the Alzheimers Foundation Memory Walk at 9 a.m. in the Village
Park; a Career Connections Brunch in the College Union Ballroom from 10 – 11:30
a.m.; the 2nd annual Block Party from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Village
Park; and the Sports Hall of Fame reception and dinner in the College Union
Ballroom. Numerous athletic contests are
scheduled throughout the weekend including rugby, men’s soccer and women’s
field hockey.
