David Turner
Elected to Geneseo Foundation Board
GENESEO,
N.Y. -- The Geneseo Foundation has elected David Turner, managing director and
head of private equity for the Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, to
its board of directors.
The 1972
Geneseo graduate joined Guardian’s investment team in 2007 and led the roll-out
and development of the company’s private equity initiative. He has more than 25
years of experience in private equity investing and portfolio management. He
has originated and led more than 60 private equity investments totaling more
than $4 billion in committed capital and managed portfolios totaling more than
$17 billion in cumulative commitments.

Turner’s commitment to Geneseo is steadfast and we warmly welcome him to the
board,” said Michael Catillaz, vice president for college advancement at
Geneseo and executive director of the Geneseo Foundation. “He understands how a
liberal education empowers students to face a changing world and we look
forward to his expert guidance.”
Turner
earned a bachelor’s degree in geography from Geneseo. As a student, he was involved
with the college’s Chamber Singers, a highly professional ensemble that regular
tours regionally and internationally.
Turner has led the development of the Chamber Singers Endowment Fund. He
lives in New Jersey with his wife, Kathleen.
They have two children, Matthew and Shannon.
The
Geneseo Foundation was established in 1971 as a private, non-profit
organization to accept and administer gifts from alumni, friends and
corporations, and manages endowment funds to benefit SUNY Geneseo students and
faculty.
