Amber Madison to Address ‘The Truth About Guys’ March 26

GENESEO, N.Y. – Nationally known sex educator and author Amber Madison, winner of the sexual health communication award from Choice USA, will address “The Truth About Guys” at SUNY Geneseo’s next All-College Hour Speaker Series presentation March 26 at 2:30 p.m. in the MacVittie College Union Ballroom. The event, which had been postponed earlier because of inclement weather, is free and open to the public.

After traveling around the country and interviewing more than a thousand men about sex, love and dating, she penned the hit book “Are All Guys Assholes?” She also is the author of, “Hooking Up: A Girl’s All-Out Guide to Sex and Sexuality,” a book for high school and college-aged young women about sexual health, sexuality and relationships. She also has written “Talking Sex with Your Kids,” a book for parents, and many articles for various media outlets.

Madison has a masters degree in counseling psychology from New York University and bachelor’s degree from Tufts University, where she wrote a popular sex column and studied human sexuality. She is also a trained therapist, who specializes in relationship issues. She sees individuals and couples at The Institute for Psychological Change on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

The All-College Hour Speaker Series is sponsored by the college's Division of Student and Campus Life. It supports the College mission and embodies the principles of the The Bringing Theory to Practice Project. The aim of the series is to provide opportunities for the campus community to come together to engage in learning that promotes cognitive, emotional, and civic development. The topics of the series are intended to challenge thinking, spur self-reflection, encourage civil discourse, and promote social responsibility.
