GENESEO, N.Y. -- Craig Wadsworth ’95 was part of a five-person crew that flew Whiskey 7, a restored C-47 aircraft, from Geneseo to Normandy, France for the upcoming commemoration of the 70th anniversary of D-Day, the operation that began the invasion of German-occupied western Europe during World War II. Wadsworth, a political science major at Geneseo and a U.S. Air Force veteran, is serving as chief of maintenance and flight engineer.

During the commemoration, Whiskey 7 is dropping paratroopers into France, much like it did during the invasion.

Whiskey 7, part of the National Warplane Museum at the Geneseo airport, took off May 14 and made several stops on its way to Normandy. The crew will fly the aircraft back to Geneseo later in June.
