String Band's Pre-St. Patrick’s Day Concert March 3 to Feature Celtic Music

GENESEO, N.Y. -- SUNY Geneseo faculty member Jim Kimball will direct the Geneseo String Band in the group's 33rd annual Pre-St. Patrick's Day Concert March 3 at 7 p.m. in Wadsworth Auditorium. The band includes both faculty and students and the concert will feature an evening of Celtic music and dance.

Guest performers will include the Drumcliffe Irish Dancers, Ted McGraw, Roxanne Ziegler, John Ryan, Nick Tiberio and others.

Admission is $5 for the general public, $2 for students and free for children age 12 and younger. Tickets will be available at the door only.

Kimball is a folk music expert and ethnomusicologist at SUNY Geneseo, teaching students about music and musical instruments from around the world.
