GENESEO, N.Y. -  The State University of New York at Geneseo has been recognized for its efforts in environmental sustainability by the newly-released "The Princeton Review's Guide to 286 Green Colleges" guide.

The guide cites SUNY Geneseo's commitment to "thinking Geneseo green," including the establishment of its Environmental Impact and Sustainability Task Force, introducing the Geneseo Public Bus Service and promoting "Geneseo Gives Back," a waste diversion program that keeps an estimated 15 tons of materials from landfills at the end of each academic year.

"The Princeton Review's Guide to 286 Green Colleges" is a joint effort between The Princeton Review and the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). The guide can be downloaded at www.princetonreview.com/greenguide and www.usgbc.org/campus.

The Princeton Review is an education services company. It is not affiliated with Princeton University or Education Testing Service.

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to sustainable building design and construction.
