On Friday, April 27, Geneseo celebrates Tag Day, an annual event that recognizes the impact that donors have on Geneseo students and faculty. Organized by the senior Make Your Mark! committee, Tag Day was founded to teach students how they benefit from funds donated to the college and to engender a culture of philanthropy on campus while simultaneously thanking those who already support the college.
Last year, student volunteers hung 450 thank you tags around campus indicating every thing and every program that is funded in part by donations from dedicated alumni, parents, friends, faculty and staff. Students tagged lab equipment in the ISC, the hockey locker rooms, resources in Milne Library, every academic department and much more. Approximately 120 students and faculty who directly benefited from funds secured by The Geneseo Foundation wore and displayed tags thanking our donors.
This year, student volunteers have planned even more events to demonstrate their gratitude and appreciation - reaching out to more faculty members, sports teams, organizations and students.
