Advice for New Students: Don't be afraid to ask any and all questions. There are no dumb questions, and it’s likely that someone else will have the same question as you. In addition, when classes start, you should try to get into your own studying flow that works for you. It may be studying for an hour a day starting the week before your exam, or even studying for ten hours straight the day before, although I wouldn't suggest that. It's important to find your own method early in your college career.

Favorite Spot on Campus: The gazebo

Advice for New Students: My number one advice would be don't sit in your room! Get out there and do something! It's easy to meet new people and friends by simply leaving your room. If you're a little shy approaching new people or looking for something more structured, join a club or athletic group! This doesn't mean you have to break ties with friends from home, but remember that the students, professors, and staff at Geneseo are really friendly, nice people who have formed a great, welcoming community; would love for you to be a part of it!

Favorite Spot on Campus: South Hall

Advice for New Students: One things many students do not realize when they first come to college is they have lots of time to make friends. Freshman are coming from a place where they have had years to develop strong relationships with their friends, and many students go to college expecting to find another best friend as soon as they get here. But it is important to remember that making friends takes time, and not to be upset if they come here and don't find best friends right away. It's okay if it takes time to find your group.
