Advice for New Students: Escape your comfort zone! Take a class outside your major (i.e. Tai Chi), or learn something new by joining a club! There are so many things that you will be able to take part in as a Geneseo student, and each thing you get involved with will make your experience so much more special!

Advice for New Students:  Embrace every opportunity that college has to offer. This is a time to try new things, expand your mind, and learn as much as possible inside and outside the classroom. That being said, stay true to who you are and remember your core values. Don't forget to call your family and loved ones. Finally, keep perspective and remember that there is a much bigger world outside of Geneseo.

Advice for New Students: Meet as many people as possible at Orientation, you never know if the person sitting next to you could one day become your best friend. Get involved on campus. Sometimes you just need a break from classes and studying and it is the best way to meet other people. Use your OAs and RAs as resources. Don't be afraid to reach out to us. We are all here for you and we want to make Geneseo into your home!

Advice for New Students: I know that almost every college student says this, but my most important advice would be to get involved as soon as possible! I joined as many clubs as I could within my first couple weeks, and by doing that I could easily decide what clubs were the best suit for me. In addition, I also got to know a lot of people and made a lot of new friends!

You're always going to be working hard, participating in clubs, and stepping out of your comfort zone to learn new things, and you SHOULD be doing all of those things, but make sure you don't lose sight of living your life and having fun doing all of the great things you will be doing.
