Geneseo Admissions Information Session for Siblings

Geneseo siblings are invited to attend an information session and tour of the campus. This program will provide you with information about Geneseo and the application process. All are welcome, but the content will be tailored to high school students.

Space is limited, so please sign up in advance by clicking "Schedule a Visit" at the bottom of the Admissions webpage. Please choose one information session and one tour time.

Seuss Spruce Social Painting Class

Come paint a classic Geneseo image on a vinyl record, guided by the professionals of Zest4Art. Relax, get crafty, and go home with a unique souvenir!
Upcycled records, smocks, and all other supplies are provided for this two hour class. Ages 7+ will be allowed to paint their own projects; younger children are permitted to assist or accompany an adult.

Family Weekend Stargazing

Meet in the ISC (Integrated Science Center) Lobby
Hosted by Dr. Aaron Steinhauer, Associate Professor of Physics & Astronomy

If the weather is clear, we will travel up to the rooftop observatory of the ISC for a tour of the sky with Geneseo's telescopes. If the weather does not cooperate, we will head down to the planetarium for a show that will include the motions of the sky and seasons, a tour of the planets and interesting deep-sky objects.

Study Abroad Information Session

At Geneseo, students are encouraged to map out adventures off campus through educational experiences in countries throughout the world. With more than 45 programs in 20 countries, the possibilities abound. This seminar gives tips for navigating the selection, application and preparation processes and getting the most of the study abroad experience. Hear from study abroad advisors, students and faculty about their trips abroad.

Exploring Physics through Dozens of Demos

Dr. Kurt Fletcher, SUNY Distinguished Teaching Professor of Physics & Astronomy

How do the physical laws that govern the universe manifest themselves in our everyday experiences?  In this presentation we will use a series of classroom demonstrations to illustrate many of the basic laws of nature.  The outcomes of some demonstrations are obvious, but every once in a while the laws of physics surprise us and confound our expectations.

Friendship and Dating: What Research on Attachment Can Teach Us about Our Relationships
