What is Parents Weekend?
The focus of this event is to welcome parents of our undergraduate students to campus so that they have the opportunity to experience a portion of their student's life at SUNY Geneseo. To this end, we encourage parents and students to participate in a variety of academic, athletic and social events designed to give family members a taste of Geneseo.

Who attends Parents Weekend?
We have designed the weekend to have components of interest for parents and all our undergraduate students, and encourage our students to attend sessions and events with their parents.

When does Parents Weekend registration begin and end?
Registration for Parents Weekend will be available by mail or online beginning August 15, 2011. No refunds will be offered for reservations after October 14, 2011.

Where can I pick up my registration packet of materials for Parents Weekend?
Check-in is from 3:00 -8:00 p.m. on October 21, and 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on October 22 at Parents Weekend Headquarters in the Integrated Science Center.

Where can I get information on local accommodations (hotels, etc.)?
Please visit Geneseo's lodging page or Livingston County Tourism for local accommodations information or the Rochester Visitors Association for accommodations in Rochester.
What is the fee for Parents Weekend registration?
The fee for Parents Weekend registration is $40 per family.

What's included in the Parents Weekend registration fee?
The fee includes admission to programs and events during the weekend including:
-Kaleidoscope, Light Continental Breakfast, Parents College, Study Abroad Workshop, Career Services Workshop, GOLD Workshop, Social Networking Seminar, Gallery Exhibits Saturday afternoon, President's Report to Parents .

Fall Harvest Dinner (Saturday, October 22) pre-purchase required.
Limelight and Accent Series Presents Jeff Hefron (Saturday, October 22- 8 p.m.) pre-purchase required.
Equus
Swimming and Hockey.

What is your cancellation/refund policy?
If cancellation notification is received by October 14 at 5:00 p.m. to parents@geneseo.edu, the registration fee and meal ticket fees will be refunded. The Limelight and Accent Series tickets are non-refundable. After October 15 at 5:00, we will not offer refunds for any type of cancellations.

Will advance sale tickets be mailed to me?
No. Advance sale tickets will be in your registration packet that you can pick up during check-in. Check-in is from 3:00 -8:00 p.m. on October 21, and 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on October 22 in the Integrated Science Center.

Can students use their meal cards to purchase dinner tickets?
Yes, students can use their meal cards to purchase tickets to the Harvest Dinner. Please reserve a meal with your registration and the fee for their dinner only will be deducted from the meal plan.

Why do I have to register for the free sessions and workshops?
We ask you to register for free sessions and workshops to ensure we have adequate seating to accommodate every guest at each event.

Where can I park while I am on campus?
After 5 p.m. on Friday, and all day Saturday, all campus lots are available for your parking needs. View a Geneseo parking map.

Is it appropriate to bring my student's siblings to Parents Weekend?
Events are intended for adults and college-aged students. As a result, teenaged siblings may also enjoy the events, but younger siblings may not.

Can I purchase tickets during check-in for Parents Weekend activities?
All Parents Weekend activities require pre-registration and pre-purchase. Tickets will not be sold at registration.

What is the dress code for Parents Weekend?
You will be walking about campus, so casual attire and comfortable shoes are suggested. We recommend that you dress in layers since temperatures in our buildings and outdoors may vary.
