Chancellor Nancy Zimpher Unveils SUNY Strategic Plan

To the Geneseo Community:

I am pleased to unveil the newly developed strategic plan that will serve as the road map for the State University of New York for the next five years and guide its development for the next decade. "The Power of SUNY"  incorporates six forward-looking, interdependent areas of opportunity and challenge in which SUNY and its 64 campuses can serve as the driving force behind New York State's economic revitalization to improve the quality of life for its citizens.

The plan was a product of an unprecedented 10-month effort which included a 64-campus tour and 10 statewide conversations and symposia across New York. I am grateful that so many of you contributed your thoughts and ideas either in person or online through Generation SUNY on the web , Facebook , Twitter or YouTube .

I encourage you to take a look at our new SUNY website at http://www.suny.edu/powerofsuny and to take an opportunity to read "The Power of SUNY." Think about the many ways in which you and your campus can have a positive impact on this new endeavor.

Thank you for your efforts and support in helping to move SUNY forward. I cannot say enough about how excited I am to be starting this next phase of this journey with each and every one of you on board.
