GENESEO, N.Y. -- Parents of Geneseo students will have the opportunity to attend classes taught by faculty and attend a variety of sports and entertainment events during Parents Weekend Oct. 21-22.
Parents College will feature informative lectures and lively discussions on major topics of the day, allowing parents to simulate the classroom experience of a Geneseo student. The program will feature a wide array of classes ranging from "Nutrition: Separating Truth and Hype" to "The Physics of Baseball."
"Interest in Parents Weekend has grown substantially the past few years at Geneseo as word spreads about the tremendous experience parents have," said Tammy Ingram, director of parent relations at Geneseo. "Parents get a sense of what their son or daughter experiences at Geneseo on a daily basis and are able to take part themselves in some of the intellectual and social offerings."
A variety of other events are scheduled for the weekend including tours, workshops, musical and sporting events and special entertainment. Comedian John Heffron, winner of the second season of NBC's popular television show "Last Comic Standing," will perform Saturday evening at 8 o'clock in Kuhl Gym, but parents must purchase tickets for the event in advance through their registration process.
