Music major Louis Lohraseb will be featured during the Geneseo Wind Ensemble/Thursday Night Jazz Ensemble concert Oct. 28.
GENESEO, N.Y. -- The Geneseo Wind Ensemble and Thursday Night Jazz Ensemble will open their fall season with joint concert Oct. 28 at 8 p.m. in the college's Wadsworth Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public.
The Wind Ensemble, conducted by James Walker, distinguished service professor of music, will feature Geneseo music major Louis Lohraseb, a junior from Schenectady, N.Y., in a performance of British composer Richard Addinsell's "Warsaw Concerto for Piano." The ensemble also will perform Cole Porter's "Symphonic Portrait," Bergsma's "March with Trumpets," Khachaturian's "Three Dance Episodes from the Ballet Spartacus" and Latham's "Brighton Beach, a concert march.
The Thursday Night Jazz Ensemble features music in the "Big Band Style," featuring works by some of America's top jazz composers.
