GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo's Human Resources and Payroll Services Department has earned an Outstanding Performance Award for payroll achievement in the high volume category from New York's Office of the State Comptroller.
The award is based on performance measures and statewide performance standards developed by the New York State Payroll Users Group and Bureau of State Payroll Services. In a letter to Geneseo, the two groups wrote: "This is an outstanding testament to your successful efforts to improve performance, even in these times of budgetary challenges, which will ultimately translate into better quality services for our employees."
The college received the award during a Dec. 1 ceremony in Albany.
"Payroll services must satisfy multiple requirements at once in a timely manner and I commend our team in human resources and payroll services for this significant recognition from the state," said James B. Milroy, vice president for finance and administration at Geneseo.
"We work hard to produce the timely materials used to measure performance for these awards and it's very gratifying to receive the recognition," said Julie Briggs, the college's assistant vice president for human resources. "My hat goes off to our entire human resources and payroll staff."
