Stephen F. West, distinguished teaching professor emeritus of mathematics, will be inducted into the New York State Mathematics Educators' Hall of Fame on Sept. 28. He will be honored by the New York State Association of Mathematics Supervisors at the 2012 Leadership Summit and Hall of Fame Dinner in Albany.

West joined Geneseo faculty in 1979 and retired in 2007. Throughout his career at Geneseo, West exemplified the highest ideals of teaching, helping both students and colleagues achieve their full potential, said President Christopher C. Dahl.

"Geneseo is proud to have Steve in our emeriti family," he said. "We thank him for his service to the college, the community and the mathematics education profession. His leadership and passion have shaped lives of purpose and enriched the liberal arts tradition at Geneseo."
