Alumni-athletes Bob Avallone '76 and Dan Loughran '86 have contributed $40,000 to challenge other alumni-athletes to support The Fund for Geneseo by participating in A Knight's Challenge.

The challenge supports the mission of Geneseo and strengthens support for student-athletes. A Knight's Challenge guarantees that the men's and women's teams with the highest alumni participation rates will receive grand prizes of $6,000 each. Second-place teams receive $4,500, third-place teams receive $3,500, and all teams reaching a benchmark of 15 percent participation will receive $1,000.

The challenge can make an extraordinary difference for the teams that earn the top three awards, helping to fund travel to tournaments and championships, new uniforms and warm-ups, updated equipment and more. The challenge supports Shaping Lives of Purpose: The Campaign for Geneseo, which is raising $22 million to provide opportunities for students and an outstanding Geneseo experience.
