GENESEO, N.Y. – More than 230 SUNY Geneseo student leaders are on campus for the fourth annual Student Leadership Symposium Aug. 22, which this year will focus on communication. The day-long training will include a keynote address by motivational speaker Chris Westfall, author of the book “The New Elevator Pitch,” who will share his advice and tips on "Making Your Message Matter."
Residence hall assistants, athletic team captains, student government officers and leaders from Greek and other organizations will be among those participating in the symposium to kick off the academic year. Classes begin Aug. 26 at Geneseo.
The student leaders also will have the opportunity to choose among numerous Geneseo Opportunity for Leadership Development (GOLD) workshops, all focused on communication. GOLD programs are available to all Geneseo students throughout the year to complement their academic studies.
