Please provide a brief description of your research interests
My current research interests are focused mostly on motivations for environmentally friendly behaviors such as energy conservation. But I do have broader interests in persuasion and social influence.
Are you looking for student research assistants for the upcoming semesters?
If yes, how many students are you looking for?
one or two
In what aspects are student research assistants involved in your lab?
Data collection is a big part of students' responsibilities. Students also help conduct literature reviews, design studies and analyze data.
What skills are you looking for in student research assistants?
Students generally must have completed Psyc 250 and 251, and must have done well in both those courses. Psyc 251 is particularly important.
I also look for students who have a genuine interest in psychological science, who can learn quickly, and are dependable, reliable and hard workers. Students must also work well with other members of our research team and with research participants.
Is there anything else you would like to say?
Right now my main focus in on completing a text book on the psychology of happiness. Although my lab is not as active as it has been, I am continuing to collect data on some on-going projects.
Students must be available for lab meetings on Fridays from 2:30 - 4:00 PM, and to help collect data at least two afternoons/early evenings M - Th from about 4 - 7 PM. Students won't be collecting data during this entire time every week, but I need them to be available as needed.
