Would you be willing to work with students as assistants with your research projects at this time?
If yes, how many?
I usually have 4 or 5 students each semester.
Do you prefer to choose your research assistants yourself or are you willing to be approached by students?
It's fine for students to contact me, but I rarely use students who I don't know well (i.e., been in at least one of my classes, etc.).
In what aspects of your research are student assistants involved (e.g. data collection, data analysis, hypothesis formation, literature reviews, writing)?
All of the above.
Are there any special comments/instructions you would like interested students to know about you, your projects, or what you are looking for?
When selecting research assistants, I am usually looking for students who I already know from one of my classes. Students who have done well in the class, have a good GPA (at least 3.25), and who are obviously enthusiastic about psychology and research make good research assistants. I also like students to have already completed Psyc 251.
