Would you be willing to work with students as assistants with your research projects at this time?
I will need research assistants in 2006-2007.
If yes, how many?
I usually work with 2-3 students a year.
Do you prefer to choose your research assistants yourself or are you willing to be approached by students?
I usually choose my own research assistants. However, I am willing to be approached by interested students. Interested students should have a strong background in research methods and statistics. Students who are interested in working with me next year should contact me in the Spring of 2006.
In what aspects of your research are student assistants involved (e.g. data collection, data analysis, hypothesis formation, literature reviews, writing)?
Usually, all of my research assistants play role in developing the measures, collecting the data, and analyzing the data. Some research assistants have also co-authored poster submissions at professional conferences and/or articles for publication. In general, the level of involvement depends on the research assistant's experience and interest as well as the stage of the project. All research assistants receive training in using web survey applications and SPSS.
Are there any special comments/instructions you would like interested students to know about you, your projects, or what you are looking for?
Typically, I work with students who are willing to commit to working in my research lab for at least one academic year (although it would be ideal to have students who could work with me for more than one academic year). Feel free to contact me (email: firstname.lastname@example.org; phone: 245-5200) if you would like additional information about my research interests or my research lab.
