Remembrance Event Schedule

Please join us as we remember those we've lost, and come together to comfort and support each other through this difficult time.

 


 

  • Monday, January 18 - Friday, January 22:  Tables are setup in the MacVittie College Union Lobby for students, staff, and faculty to leave notes of support/encouragement for the families and teams of Kelsey and Matt.

  • Wednesday, January 20: There will be a moment of silence at 2:30 p.m. The College carillon will toll at 2:30 p.m. for Matt #23, and at 3:20 p.m. for Kelsey #32.

    WGSU will pause their broadcast for a tolling of the bells at 2:30 p.m. and 3:20 p.m.  http://bit.ly/wgsu-live

 

  • Wednesday, January 20 - Wednesday, January 27: Collection Boxes for cards and letters will be available in Milne Library and MacVittie College Union.

  • Wednesday, January 20: A remembrance event will take place in Kuhl Gymnasium at 7:00 p.m., hosted by Intercollegiate Athletics.

    Resident student meetups at 6:20 p.m. to gather and walk to the Remembrance Event.  MacVittie College Union Lobby, Red Jacket top level, and Wyoming front lobby.

    FOLLOWING THE CEREMONY – Please join us in a memorial procession to celebrate the lives of Matt and Kelsey. Please feel free to follow the women’s basketball and men’s ice hockey teams as they walk around the Wilson Ice Arena and to Schrader Gymnasium. 

    Counseling Services will be available this evening and are located​ in the front lobby.​

  • Thursday, January 21: Show your support for the community and those affected by changing your social media profile to the #OneKnight logo

  • Thursday, January 21: presales-Tickets for the Men’s ice hockey vs Cortland on Saturday, January 23  and the Men’s and Women’s Basketball vs. Cortland on Tuesday, January 26 will be available at Student Association Ticket Office, located on the first floor of MacVittie College Union, on Thursday-Friday and Monday-Tuesday from 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.

  • Thursday, January 21: Residence Halls across campus will be running Make-A-Card programs.  Ask your nearest RA where and when the event is in your hall.

  • Friday, January 22: Wear BLUE and WHITE in remembrance of Kelsey and Matt and in support of the women’s basketball and men’s ice hockey teams.

  • Friday, January 22: Merchants Association and Main Street shops will display BLUE and WHITE flags in remembrance and support.

  • Friday, January 22: presales-Tickets for the Men’s ice hockey vs Cortland on Saturday, January 23  and the Men’s and Women’s Basketball vs. Cortland on Tuesday, January 26 will be available at Student Association Ticket Office, located on the first floor of MacVittie College Union, on Thursday-Friday and Monday-Tuesday from 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.

  • Friday, January 22:  Calling hours for Kelsey are from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Falvo Funeral Home (1295 Fairport Nine Mile Point Road- Rt250).  One buses, sponsored by Student Association, will be departing the MacVittie College Union Circle at 4:00 p.m. and returning to campus between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Sign up at the Student Association Ticket Office starting Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

  • Friday, January 22:  Intervarsity Christian Fellowship campus wide prayer in Newton 202 at 7:00 p.m.  There will be a time for reflection and prayer for healing.  All members of the campus and community are welcome. 

  • Saturday, January 23: Funeral services for Kelsey are at 11:00 a.m at Webster United Church of Christ (570 Klem Road, Webster). One buses, sponsored by Student Association, will be departing the MacVittie College Union Circle at 9:30 a.m. and returning between 1:30 p.m. and 2:00.   Sign up at the Student Association Ticket Office starting Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30pm.

  • Saturday, January 23: Geneseo First Response (GFR) will be staffing tables in Red Jacket and Letchworth Dining Halls from 5:00 p.m. to 6:15 p.m,.  Stop by on your way to dinner to make signs and posters for the "Pack the Ira" event at 7:00 p.m.

  • Saturday, January 23: Pickup your #OneKnight sign on your way into the Men’s ice hockey game.  Display it proundly at the game and keep it for future Geneseo athletics contests.

  • Saturday, January 23:         SOLD OUT       "Pack the Ira” event. Men’s ice hockey vs Cortland at 7:00 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.(Ira S. Wilson Ice Arena). Come and show your support for the team as they rally together to honor their teammate.

  • Monday, January 25 - Friday, February 5: Sign the #OneKnight banner in the MacVittie College Union Lobby from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. or as it travels to the Residence Halls at night.  When completed the #OneKnight banner will be displayed in Schrader Gymnasium.

  • Monday, January 25: presales-Tickets for the Men’s and Women’s Basketball vs. Cortland on Tuesday, January 26 will be available at Student Association Ticket Office, located on the first floor of MacVittie College Union, on Thursday-Friday and Monday-Tuesday from 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. 

  • Tuesday, January 26: Blue ribbons with schedules of the remaining season games available in MacVittie College Union Lobby.

  • Tuesday, January 26: presales-Tickets for the the Men’s and Women’s Basketball vs. Cortland on Tuesday, January 26 will be available at Student Association Ticket Office, located on the first floor of MacVittie College Union, on Thursday-Friday and Monday-Tuesday from 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.

Counseling Services has been available to students all week and will continue to be available throughout the semester in Lauderdale Center for ​Student ​Health and Counseling.
