Geneseo Horizons: Online Application System

This section provides a step-by-step overview of the Geneseo Study Abroad's online application system ("Geneseo Horizons").  You can access the only application system by clicking the "Apply Now!" links on the Study Abroad homepage, or any of the program webpages.  Please email studyabroad@geneseo.edu if you see any inconsistencies with the online application system, or if you are having any trouble navigating.

Step 1: Choose a Program

There are a number of resources to help you in choosing a program, including the Choosing a Program section of our Prospective Students webpage, advisement and walk-in office hours, and a complete list of programs and program details on the Study Abroad Programs and Study Away Programs webpages.   Geneseo Horizons Student Login

Once you have selected a program, please review all the information on the program's webpage, including dates, costs, and eligibility requirements.  When you have decided you are ready to apply, click the 'Apply Now!' link on the program's webpage.  The 'Apply Now!' link should be located on the right side of page underneath the photo slideshow.  Clicking this link will take you to the Geneseo Horizons log-in page, pictured to the right.

Step 2: Login (Geneseo Students) or Register (Other SUNY students)

Geneseo Students: Please use the Central Authentication link in the top of the center column of the Geneseo Horizons login page to login.  When you get to the Central Authentication page you will enter your geneseo username and password (the same username and password you use to access your webmail).

For security purposes, we recommend that all Geneseo students login via the Central Authentication link rather than just putting their Geneseo email and password into the Geneseo Horizons login page.  If you are on campus and already logged into the Central Authentication system (via the Geneseo secure wireless network, etc.), clicking on the Central Authentication link will take you directly to your Geneseo Horizons page.

Other SUNY Students and Non-SUNY students: Please first register and create a Geneseo Horizons account by clicking the "No Login? Non-Geneseo Students Register Here" button.  Once you create an account, you will receive a registration confirmation email, and will be able to login to Geneseo Horizons using the email and password you used to create the account.  This step is similar to creating an account before placing an order online.

All Students: Once you have decided on a program, registered and/or logged-in, we highly recommend that you bookmark the Geneseo Horizons login page.  This will be your go-to page for the rest of your study abroad application, post-acceptance procedures (the paperwork you need to complete after you get into the program), and study abroad scholarship applications, so it's very important that you have quick and easy access to this webpage.  If you have any trouble logging in or creating an account, please email studyabroad@geneseo.edu.

Step 3: Search Programs

Once you have logged-in to Geneseo Horizons, you will be automatically taken to your 'Home' page.  If you haven't submitted an application for Study Abroad yet, you will see that you have no applications on your homepage.

Geneseo Horizons Search and ApplyTo find the program you wish to apply for, click the "Search Programs" tab at the top of the page.  Clicking this tab will direct you to the complete list of Geneseo Study Abroad programs you can apply for (page pictured to the right).  You can find the program you wish to apply for by browsing the list of programs or using the search filters at the top of the page.  When you think you have found the program you want, double check that you have the right one by clicking on the link for the program name and making sure the description of the program matches what you saw on the Study Abroad Programs or Study Away Programs webpages.

When you're sure you've found the program you're looking for, click the 'Apply' button: this will take you to the application itself!

Please note: Geneseo Horizons is an application management system.  It is intended for you to use to manage your study abroad application.  All of the current information on the program, including dates, costs, application deadlines, academic and housing information, and eligibility requirements, will still be hosted on the Geneseo Study Abroad website: www.geneseo.edu/study_abroad.  Please check the Study Abroad website regularly for program information updates.  Please check your Geneseo Horizons account regularly for updates on your study abroad application.
