The Program

This one-credit hour course, INTD 250: Chaa Coba Service Learning and Maya Culture, Coba, Quintana Roo, runs during Spring Break in March.  The course provides international travel, study abroad, and service leaning opportunities for undergraduate students.  Students tour magnificent ancient Maya archaeological sites, colonial towns and contemporary villages located on the Yucatan Peninsula in southern Mexico.  Students are trained to keep a detailed journal describing their experiences and record Maya culture in digital photos and on video.  Students participate in a service learning project and document and evaluate Maya culture, past and present.
