When you study abroad for a semester, you will essentially be attending another university for that semester; for this reason, most of the international unversities that SUNY Geneseo sends students to have their own applications for visiting, international, or exchange students to fill out. If the Geneseo program you are applying for requires a supplemental application, this will be indicated under the 'Fast Facts' sections of the program webpage.
Supplemental applications will be provided to students upon their acceptance into the exchange/study abroad program by SUNY Geneseo (that is, after you SUNY-OIP long application form has been submitted and reviewed). The supplemental application will be included with the rest of your acceptance materials and paperwork in your 'Acceptance Packet'. Geneseo Study Abroad will be holding orientation sessions to review all acceptance materials, including supplemental application procedures, with accepted students.
While each university has different application requirements, IN GENERAL, you can expect to need the following materials for your supplemental applicaiton:
Students will be provided with the supplemental application for their program upon their acceptance by SUNY Geneseo. Students will submit this supplemental application and materials to SUNY Geneseo Study Abroad: we will make copies and forward the application to the university abroad for you. Any additional submission instructions will be provided. Should the application require a study statement and/or letters of recommendation, Geneseo Study Abroad can make copies of the ones you submitted with your SUNY application and forward the originals to the host institution abroad.
If you have any questions or would like more information about the supplemental application for the program you are applying for, please email froome@geneseo.edu.
