Weekly Seminars- New Format
Throughout the semester, the Xerox Center has a wide range of exciting activities to participate in. Our weekly multicultural seminars are very popular and this semesters themes include Managing Urban Classroom, Thinking about Inclusive Practices, Urban Youth and 40 Developmental Assets, etc.. These seminars are listed in the mycourses "Xerox". Four urban education certificates are being offered during the 2010-2011 calendar year, including: Cross-Cultural Understands to Reach Diverse Populations; Managing Behaviors in the Classroom; Thinking Inclusively; and Social Justice Issues and Teaching. To Enroll in a certificate or to view the individual seminars: (1) Log in to myCourses, (2) In the Courses box, click the link at the top left to "find a Course", (3) Type "xerox" in the Keyword search box (the seminar wil appear in the search results), (4) Click on the "enroll" link, once you click this link you will now see your the xerox myCourses on your home page along with your other courses.
Tutoring and Mentoring: The SATURDAY Program
The Saturday Program is a tutoring and mentoring program that focuses on improving the literacy skills of 7th and 8th graders using multimedia and culturally relevant young adult literature. The program takes place on Saturdays at the Central Library in Downtown Rochester. To

Annual Conference on Urban Education
The 2010 annual conference marks the Xerox Center for Multicultural Teacher Education's 14th Anniversary. This year's conference will be held in the Spring 2011, date TBA.
East High TLI Overnight
During the spring semester we will be welcoming students from East High School to the SUNY Geneseo campus for an overnight visit and panel discussion. The students from East High will be partnered with a Geneseo student to experience campus life first hand. This is a unique opportunity for Geneseo college students to learn more about the myths of urban education and for the East High School students to get a taste of being a college student.
SUMMER ACTIVITIES
Rochester Young Scholars Academy in Geneseo
In cooperation with Rochester After School Academy (RASA), Rochester City School District (RCSD), and SUNY College at Geneseo, the Xerox Center is anticipating the enrollment of sixty 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th graders for our fifth summer camp in summer 2011.
