MEET ACE (2011-12):


WillACE Chair: Stasia Monteiro
Stasia is a senior English Literature major and is enrolled in the Edgar Fellows Honors Program, with roots in Smithtown, NY. She is SO excited to be working with all of the ACE Reps this year, and has many ideas for ways to foster collaboration between organizations in order to strengthen an inclusive and diverse community in Geneseo. Stasia also serves in the duel capacity of Director of Student Affairs for the Student Association.


WillACE Vice Chair: Jessica Duran
Jessica is a Psychology major and International relations minor from Queens, NY. She was the recording secretary last year and now she is the new ACE Vice Chair. She loves scrambled eggs and unicorns and usually looks lost all the time but tries her best to stay organized to be a better Vice Chair.


WillBlack Student Union (BSU) Representative: Danielle Williamson
Danielle is a sophomore Speech Pathology major from Queens New York. I am also the co captain of the step team, the Geneseo G-Steppas. I love being involved in extracurricular activities because it’s a great way to meet new people, get your mind of school work, and hopefully make new friends that last a life time. I love being an ACE Rep because i believe that it is important that all cultural groups and organizations work together to promote diversity on Geneseo's campus. Join Who? BSU!


WillJapanese Culture Club (JCC) Representative: Akane Ishibashi
Akane is a junior international relations major from Westchester, NY. She is really happy to be working with ACE this semester, and learning more about all of the great cultural organizations on campus. She encourages anyone interested to check out the cultural events and get involved in any way you can. Being part of JCC and ACE is lots of fun, you learn about other cultures and meet a lot of great people!


WillKorean American Students Association (KASA) Representative: Joanne Woo
Joanne is a psychology major from Queens, New York. She is very excited to be a part of ACE this year and hopes to help in many ways to make this year better than the last. She encourages everyone to attend the various clubs under S.A because they provide the Geneseo campus the opportunity to experience different cultures without a passport.


WillLatino Students Association (LSA) Representative: Debbie Medina
Debbie is an International Relations major and is a sophomore. Being a transfer student from St. John's University, she recognizes how important diversity is and strives to be involved in multicultural affairs here at SUNY Geneseo. As an active member in LSA and ACE she is deeply motivated to become more involved in the Geneseo community. She acknowledges just how important ACE is in reaching out to students and how LSA is open to all no matter their background.


WillStudents Educating About Ableism (SEAA) Representative: Chelsea Nattrass
Chelsea Nattrass is an English Literature major from Oneonta, NY. She hopes that through SEAA and ACE she can help continue to promote cross-cultural acceptance and an accessible world for all.





WillPride Alliance Representative: Carmela Taylor
Carmela is Sophomore Psychology student from Rochester, NY. Carmela would love for anyone interested, queer or straight, to attend a Pride meeting for a fun and educational atmosphere. She loves the collaboration between the different cultural groups on campus and can't wait for a fantastic new year!


WillSlavic Club Representative: Bethany Hyland
Bethany is a sophomore Spanish major with German and honors minors from Rochester, NY. She likes the color purple. When Bethany is not thinking about Slavic Club or dessert pierogies, she can be found leaping around campus. Bethany loves to travel and will be abroad for her junior year in China and Spain.


WillWomyn's Action Coalition (WAC) Representative: Joane Lee
Joane is a senior political science major from Queens. She knows her name looks like it is missing an "n" or has an extra "e", but she is amused by the many different names she has been called because of the way her name is spelled. A more important thing she would like to tell everyone about is WAC! Womyn's Action Coalition is an awesome group that looks at gender inequality issues from many points of views (ex/ social, political, economical, cultural, etc.). Come tell us what you think about gender inequality!

WillShakti Representative: Aaron Licari
I am from Queens, N.Y. I am a Senior Math major at Geneseo. Embracing the differences and similarities in the cultures around us better who we are and I strive to do aid people in this understanding. I am really interested in cooking especially ethnic dishes. I love and will represent Shakti everyday. One Love.


WillGeneseo Chinese Culture Club (GCCC) Representative: Ketan Datta
Ketan is a accounting major from Brooklyn, New York. He plans to become a Certified Public Accountant after college and eventually open up his own firm. He is very multicultured speaking almost 5 different languages, helping various clubs out with events and dinners and is very handsome. He is looking forward to learning more about different cultures through ACE and plans to bring new ideas to ACE this year.


FatimaACE Advisor: Fatima Johnson
Fatima Rodriguez Johnson is the coordinator of multicultural programs and services at SUNY Geneseo. She received her undergraduate degree in Sociolgy from Fredonia State College and her graduate degree in Student Personnel Administration from Canisius College. In addition to working in the field of multiculturalism, she also held positions in higher education with the departments of academic advisement, residence life and educational opportunity programs. Prior to joining Geneseo, Mrs. Johnson served as the director of programming for a national human relations organization
