What does Agonian mean?

The Agonian Sorority was originally started as a literary society. "Agonia" is actually a Greek word that means agony (see Greek - English Translator). The best guess we have is that our founding sisters used the word to indicate their original goal of the organization being centered around great works of literature and art. "Agony" being one of the landmarks of great works of literature...
