What is the Ago House Fund?
"The Ago House...A Place You Can Always Call Home" is a fundraising
effort developed by Alpha Kappa Phi Inc. to
ensure that the Ago House remains one of the premier sorority houses in Geneseo.
Hundreds of Agos have resided at 26 Wadsworth Street since 1969. Perhaps
you have lived at the Ago House at one time in your life and remember the
love and friendship shared there. Those of you who did not live in the house
can still remember what a difference Ago made in your life. The bonds of sisterhood
remain strong for all of us who were fortunate enough to live the Ago experience.
As alumnae we can still help make a difference.

Ago House Fund Update
2007
This year we updated the basement bedroom to bring it up to code. We installed
an egress casement window. The window is larger than the previous one and
swings open to the outside. Now not only is it safe to live in the basement
bedroom, there is much more natural light! We also replaced the ceiling that
had suffered some water damage and had some recessed lighting installed. Check
out the pictures!
2006
The Ago House Fund information was mailed out in mid April in the first ever
Alpha Kappa Phi, Inc. Newsletter in conjunction with the Anchor. This year
we were able to purchase two new refrigerators for the kitchen.
2005
The past two years we have averaged $5,000 with 90 donors. This year we have
only had 20 donors with approximately $1,000. While that money has been set
aside, as of August 2005 we have not raised enough money to do any improvements
to the house. It is very important we receive donations so that we can keep
the rent affordable for the sisters and upkeep our home. We would like to
finish replacing the floors on the rest of the first floor. We are also in
desperate need of up to three new refrigertators. The ones we have now are
almost 20 years and not only in bad shape but high energy users as well. We
are also still looking long term to build a separate addition. Please considering
donating whatever you can!
2004
This year we focused on finishing items in the foyer. A portion of this year's
fund is being set aside to save for an addition we hope to add in the future.

2003
The first ever (in recent history) alumnae fundraiser letter went out in
May 2003 to about 1,100 Ago alumnae. We received wonderful letters and donations
from more than 80 alumnae. Thanks to our alumnae's generosity, we were able
to make many amazing home improvements. Read
about and view photos of the improvements. Thanks to all who donated!
