Notes:

  • Attendance figures include any playoff and exhibition games.
  • 1962: Horton resigns in mid-season to concentrate on campaign for local Congressional seat; Silver agrees to finish term, while retaining title of RCB Chairman of the Board.
  • 1963: Due to collapse of American Association, IL forced to absorb two teams and go to two divisions. Back to eight teams in 1964.
  • 1964: Silver resigns as club president after the end of the season.
  • 1965: In mid-July, amidst a financial crisis, Silver is given complete charge of all operations of the club. In Nov., after the departure of George Sisler Jr., Silver was officially named President and Treasurer; the scope of his duties also meant he was the club’s de facto general manager. On Thanksgiving Day, Silver suffered a serious heart attack, with Chairman of the Board William Lang running the franchise in his absence.
