Friends, brethren, new students, students we wish would just leave...

WELCOME BACK!

It’s a new year - and SURPRISE it’s a new website! I figured we could use an update - according to the news-feed, auditions for Dr. Hero were still going on and there has been a game-night at 24 Livingston for the last two years and four months. Someone should go up there and tell them to lay off the checkers. Anyway - hopefully this new website will serve as a more active communication outlet for everyone in Brodie - keep checking back here for minutes (in case you deleted that e-mail Megan has lovingly created) or for detailed information about upcoming shows, auditions, and events.

Now there are probably some newbies out there - so without further ado:

WHAT IS COTHURNUS?

A Cothurnus is a thick-soled boot or buskin. Seriously. It’s also the ancient style of greek tragedy. Most importantly, though, Cothurnus is the Geneseo theatre club! We put on three shows a year called VegSOUPs (which stands for Student Organized Undergrad Production - the Veg is due to our strong belief in the leafy food group). We also bring in speakers, host workshops, and schedule trips to see professional shows. If you are a theatre enthusiast, come to our meetings which are every Friday at 3:30 in the Brodie Commons (Take the left-hand entrance, listen for the screams). Come get your weekly (or daily) dose of drama with us! "We, the members of Cothurnus, desire an exploration of theatre through a diversified selection of productions of the highest caliber, and to instill a desire for artistic achievement in students." - Or at least that’s what our Constitution says. On top of that, we’re a rad, rock-and-roll group of people looking to get the most out of our college experience. So...join us. That’s EVERY FRIDAY at 3:30 PM in the BRODIE COMMONS.

Check out some more info on us by clicking on the links up above. You’ll like what you see - Promise.

That’s all for now!

Peace, love, and Literature,

Your President,

Danny Carroll
