I started working for New York State in 1986 at the NYS Dept. of Health in downtown Rochester. I was a clerk I in the MMIS Office. This office was responsible for approval of Medicaid coverage of prescription, durable medical products, and eye and hearing aid products. Our department also handled the investigations of area hospitals for compliance. This was a very nice work experience as my first job in the real world.
I have also worked for the NYS Dept. of Motor Vehicles in Rochester's district office for a year as a clerk II. For Motor Vehicles we were responsible for all aspects of license and registrations that could not be handled in the county offices. This job I gained a lifetime of knowledge that I will carry with me.
This brings me to my current home at SUNY Geneseo. I started out working in the Purchasing department for about 7 years and have moved to my new home here in the College Union in 1997.
