EMPLOYEE
ASSISTANCE PROGRAM COORDINATOR
The Employee Assistance Program is a confidential, free, voluntary,
information and referral service available to all employees, their
family members, and retirees. It can provide assistance with many
types of concerns: family, marital, substance abuse, medical,
legal, grief and loss, elder care, and financial, to mention a
few. EAP does not provide counseling, but serves as the link between
SUNY Geneseo/CAS employees and skilled professionals in the community.
EAP is a neutral office not associated with any disciplinary procedures,
and can lead to improved quality in working and family lives.
The
SUNY Geneseo Employee Assistance Program is seeking volunteers
to fill coordinator positions. An EAP Coordinator is a confidential
individual, specially trained to assist the employee or family
member in finding a professional to help solve concerns in the
best possible way.
The
Coordinator must have a strong commitment to the goals of the
NYS Employee Assistance Program, excellent interpersonal skills,
a history of productive relationships with co-workers, ability
to communicate with groups and individuals, interest in the community,
its services and resources; flexibility and willingness to learn,
initiative and ability to work independently; strong sense of
confidentiality.
The
Coordinator reports to the EAP Committee and works with the Committee
to increase awareness of EAP on site, expand referral services,
and help coordinate activities with other SUNY Geneseo activities.
No special requirements needed, except the desire to help your
fellow employees!
