Monroe Residence Hall is under a major reconstruction for new up-to-date residential living. The project entails a complete stripping of the building in the demolition phase right down to the building shell. Exterior improvements for Monroe Hall will include having new energy efficient windows installed, a new building addition for the installation of a centrally located elevator, and a new outside patio. Interior improvements for Monroe Hall will include all new floorings and ceilings, including lighting, fire alarm and sprinkler systems. Bathrooms will be completely upgraded, bedrooms as well will be upgraded to include new bedroom closets. There will be several areas throughout Monroe Hall that will convert central corridor style bedrooms into bedroom suites. Monroe Hall will be renovated to comply with ADA standards and to now better accomodate residents with disabilities. Monroe Hall will be renovated with all new mechanical systems installed.

Going Green:
-Monroe Hall's heating and cooling systems will be provided with aid of 60 geothermal wells installed on the west side of the building.
-Monroe Hall will utilize rainwater harvesting. Rainwater collected from the roof will be treated and used for supplying water to bathroom urinals and water closets.
-Monroe Hall was designed and will be constructed to be certifiable in meeting the US Green Building Council's LEED Silver Certification.
