ROBERT SINCLAIR MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Geneseo Community Players annually presents a $250 scholarship to a college student involved in acting and directing. This scholarship is given in memory of Robert Sinclair, a founding father and long-standing actor/director of Geneseo Community Players. Please mail the completed application (click HERE to download the form), letter of reference and theater resume to GCP, PO Box 344, Geneseo, NY 14454 by April 15, 2012.
RICHARD W. STORY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Geneseo Community Players annually presents a $250 scholarship to a college student involved in technical theater and design. This scholarship is given in memory of Richard Story, a technical theater wizard. Geneseo Community Players Awards for GCS High School Seniors
Geneseo Community Players annually presents Senior Awards in the amount of $150 each, to two Geneseo Central School seniors who have participated in the theater throughout their school careers. One award is for technical theater and one is for acting. Please fill out the application (click HERE to download the form) and return to the GCS Guidance Counseling Office by Friday, May 4, 2012.

Patty Moss Award
for outstanding contributions as a performer to a Geneseo Central School senior- ($150) - Jessica Mothersell
Jessica has participated in every GCS show since seventh grade, including Seussical, Little Women, Once Upon A Mattress, Up the Down Staircase, Honk!, The Orphan Train, The Music Man, Musical Comedy Murders of 1940, Love, Death, and the Prom, Damn Yankees!, I Never Saw Another Butterfly, Beauty and the Beast, and Sarah, Plain and Tall. Her favorite roles include Doris in Damn Yankees!, Babette in Beauty and the Beast, and Maggie in Sarah, Plain and Tall. She is the President of the GCS Drama Club this year and was the treasurer for two years prior. In addition, she has participated in Aesop’s Fables, Celebrate My Life: A Tribute to Eric Grammas, The Wizard of Oz, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, with GCP and both The Secret Garden and Thoroughly Modern Millie with LCP. Jessica is Vice President of her class, the captain of her colorguard team, and the treasurer for both National Honor Society and Student Council. She is also involved with chorus, show choir, marching band, dance, voice lessons, Earthwise, Yearbook, Rachel’s and the morning show at her school. Along with that, she works at Wegmans, interns in the Elementary School, teaches a church school class, and is trying to learn how to play guitar and become fluent in American Sign Language. Next year, Jessica plans to attend SUNY Fredonia for Inclusive Elementary Education. She hopes to be involved with theater, dance, and music for the rest of her life because it has helped make her into the person she is today.

Heather Scoville
Heather participated in the Drama Club at Geneseo Central School as an actor and as a production crew member. She was in the cast of Seussical & Once Upon a Mattress. Heather joined the costume crew for Up the Down Staircase, Honk, Orphan Train, & Music Man. She served as the costume crew co-chief for Musical Comedy Murders, Damn Yankees, I Never Saw Another Butterfly, Beauty and the Beast, and Sarah, Plain and Tall. Heather is also involved with dance, National Honor Society and Yearbook. Heather’s Future Plans include attending SUNY Fredonia to major in history, where she hopes to continue her involvement in the theater.

for outstanding achievement in acting and directing for a graduating senior from SUNY Geneseo - ($250)
Kaitlin Springston
Kaitlin Springston is an Equity Membership Candidate, a student member of the Stage Managers' Association, and a senior Theatre major and an English minor. In her four years at SUNY Geneseo, she has worked on thirty-one different productions including, but not limited to, Mainstages, Vocal Miscellanies, GENsengs, VegSOUPs, Dance Concerts and Act 1s.
Stage management is her focus, having filled that role for six Brodie productions and assistant stage managed three. She has also worked as a props designer, technical director, actor, director, board op, and on numerous running crews. She also works in Brodie’s scene and paint shops, and is in charge of the theatre department’s prop storage. Of course, she has also made sure to focus on her academics, earning a 4.0 one semester, and the Dean’s List for all but two semesters. She will be graduating with Honors.
Outside of Geneseo, she works with Long Island children’s group Longwood Youth Theatre Experience as a counselor and their entire technical team, and at her local community theatre, Theatre Three, as an usher, followspot op, and occasional sole backstage crew member. Last summer, she worked on several productions as a stage management intern at The Hangar Theatre with equity professionals. Kaitlin is currently applying for the professional stage management internship at The Juilliard School and will be moving to New York City at the end of the summer.
Richard Story Award
for excellence in design and technical theatre to a graduating senior from SUNY Geneseo ($250)
Catherine Martini
Catherine Martini is a recent graduate of SUNY Geneseo. She received her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Theatre and plans to continue a career in stage management or design. She's worked on many shows as a set designer, lighting designer, technical director, stage manager, and scene painter over the past four years both in and out of the college setting. Her work with the Community Players was brief but highly rewarding. She'd like to thank Cathy Gardner and Leah Fletcher for giving her the opportunity to learn and work on the winter 2011 production of "Don't Dress for Dinner" and is greatly honored to be receiving the Richard Story Award.
The Eric Grammas Memorial Endowed Scholarship
is awarded to a continuing SUNY Geneseo student majoring in Performing Arts who has overcome great obstacles through hard work, perseverance, and determination in the pursuit of his/her dreams. This scholarship is in memory of Eric Grammas, Class of 2005, and is supported by a generous endowment established by Eric’s family, friends, and the Geneseo Community Players. ($1,060)
Sarah DeMarco
Sarah DeMarco is a junior from Rochester, NY who is a double major in piano performance and psychology. She studies piano under Dr. Amy Stanley. Miss DeMarco would like to enthusiastically and sincerely thank the donors for their generosity, and her professors for encouraging her success. Miss DeMarco enjoys participating in the Geneseo Chamber Singers and Percussion Ensemble, and has also performed in numerous chamber concerts. Miss DeMarco won the Howard Hanson Piano Competition which was held at Nazareth College in 2009, as well as the Honor's Competition at Geneseo this past spring of 2011. Miss DeMarco plans to use her two majors to one day pursue a career as a music therapist and a piano teacher.
