I enjoy having students do research in my lab and strongly encourage you to consider
this opportunity. Here are the guidelines for doing research with me. To do research in my
lab you should follow these guidelines:
- Decide if you really want to commit to doing research.
- Decide who is the best person to supervise your research.
- If you think I am the right person you should determine whether there is room in the lab
for you during the proposed semester.
- Devise a plan for your research. Find out what others have done and what I have done.
Also, check out my Web site to get ideas.
- Discuss your preliminary idea with me. If it seems like a feasible project you will be
asked to provide a brief, one page proposal outlining the research plan and goal. I expect
you to provide the project idea.
- Upon acceptance of the proposal, you will need to
- enroll for credit under Directed Studies 399 (I do not support recreational research at
this time), and
- sign the Research Agreement
