General Information

• United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Provides statistics, information, country specific programs and resources for a variety of groups. A good resource for UN documents and very specific information on projects and research of the UNHCR.

• International Organization for Migration Publishes the World Migration Report, statistics and information about refugees and IDP. Contains relevant information on many facets of migration related issues.

• US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants addresses the needs and rights of persons in forced or voluntary migration worldwide by advancing fair and humane public policy, facilitating and providing direct professional services, and promoting the full participation of migrants in community life.

• Internal Displacement Monitoring Center The Project monitors internal displacement worldwide, and provides a thorough and up to date database or IDP related statistics.  Detailed country studies provide an in depth look at specific situations.

• US State Department Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration Information regarding asylum in the US, becoming a refugee in the US, links to recent press releases.

• Representative of the Secretary-General on the Human Rights of Internally Displaced Persons

• European Country of Origin Information Network

• Guide to International Human Rights Mechanisms for IDPs and their Advocates (.pdf) "this guide is primarily designed as a sort of encyclopedia of human rights mechanisms for IDPs. It is formatted to direct the reader to the information and the mechanisms most relevant to his or her particular situation at any given time."
