I received my Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Michigan in 1987. I came to Geneseo in 1989 after serving as a visiting assistant professor at University of California, Riverside. My areas of expertise are public opinion and American elections. I have published articles in American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Politics, Public Opinion Quarterly, Social Science Quarterly, Political Behavior, American Politics Research, Political Psychology, Political Research Quarterly, and Electoral Behavior. I have presented numerous papers at professional conferences. For the 2002-2003 academic year I served as a Fulbright Lecturer in American Politics at East China Normal University in Shanghai, China. During the summer of 2005 I served as a Fulbright Senior Specialist at the Royal Academy of Cambodia in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. In spite of threats posed by cobra snakes, bird flu, malaria, and land mines I had a great time. If you scroll down you can see various pictures from my travels throughout Asia.
