SPARTA - Steven E. Young, 33, of Sparta passed away at home unexpectedly early Saturday morning, Dec. 6, 2003.

Steve was born in Dansville on Feb. 12, 1970, the son of Joan Pfuntner Kershner. He was employed in the grocery business for many years, working at the former Bells Market and P&C Foods in Dansville. He was currently employed at Tops Friendly Markets, also of Dansville. He was a member of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union.

Surviving in addition to his mother and father Joan and Robert Kershner of Dansville are two daughters, Nicolle and Jordan Young at home; two sisters, Susan (Eric) Tsolis of Connecticut and Linda (Vaughn) Hanggi of Mississippi; two step-brothers, Robert (Valerie) Kershner, Jr. of Ossian and Loren (Nicole) Kershner; a step-sister, Laurie Dean of Dansville; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no prior calling hours. A memorial service will be held at a date and time to be announced by the Hindle Funeral Home, 271 Main St., Dansville.
