Evaluating Blogs

  Ask questions:
  1. Who is the blogger?
  2. What type of information or material is being read or cited by the blogger?
  3. What is the influence of the blogger? Are they influential or well-established in the blogging community?
  4. Is the content covered in depth, with any authority?
  5. Does the blogger use sophisticated language or jargon and terminology?
  6. What is the reliability of blog entries (look at the dates of posts for clues)
  7. Is there apparent bias on the part of the blogger? Are other points-of-view discussed?
  8. If the blogger is not an expert, how useful is their view for research purposes? Is it a unique perspective?
