Using GLOCAT
Purpose:
GLOCAT is a library catalog, useful for finding books, journal titles (but NOT ARTICLES), CDs, DVDs, government documents, teacher ed resources, maps and other items which are owned by Milne Library. This will be a useful tool if you wish to find a book or an edited collection of essays for your class.

How do I find a book which has been edited?

1. Go to the Library homepage http://library.geneseo.edu and select "Go to GLOCAT" from the QuickSearch box in the center of the screen.
2. In GLOCAT, select ADVANCED SEARCH from the blue lefthand column.
3. Type in "edited or editor" in first search box; in the next search box, type in your keywords or subjects.
4. Click "Search".
5. Your list of results will appear next.
6. If a title appears interesting, click on the title link to find out more information about the item.
7. The record will give you call number location (where it is located in Milne Library), title, author, year the item was published, and subject headings.
8. Sometimes a record will also include "Contents" which tells you titles and authors of essays or chapters included.
