Psi Chi is the National Honor Society in Psychology, founded in 1929 for the purposes of enc

ouraging, stimulating, and maintaining excellence in scholarship, and advancing the science of psychology. Membership is open to graduate and undergraduate men and women who are making the study of psychology one of their major interests, and who meet the qualifications.

For more information, visit the National Psi Chi website, or look at Geneseo Psi Chi's Resources for Students.

Why Join Psi Chi?

Psi Chi recognizes outstanding academic achievement in Psychology. The main focus of the Psi Chi National Honor Society is to encourage individual research in the field of psychology. This is not required, however. Numerous research grants and funding programs are available through Psi Chi for students interested in their own research. Psi Chi looks attractive on an application, especially on applications to doctoral programs. The Psi Chi national site provides additional benefits of membership.

How Do I Join Psi Chi?

Applications for membership are accepted twice a year, once each semester. The deadline for applications is generally in the first half of the semester. The faculty advisor and officers review submitted applications and notify accepted students. One induction ceremony is held for all new inductees in the spring semester.
