Other Requirements

Every student in this course must take part in conversation at the Virtual Coffeehouse. For each class meeting, I will post a question at the Coffeehouse to which every student must reply by 11:59 p.m. of the day before that meeting.

In addition, every student will be assigned one or more dates on which to post a question or comment in one of the topic forums at the Coffeehouse, such as "The Brontës and the Woman Question" or "The Brontës and Religion."

To find your assigned date(s) for posting to a topic forum, look at the Calendars page. Everyone is encouraged to make additional, unscheduled contributions as need or mood dictates.

Finally, every student must deliver a 15-minute oral report on a work of criticism or scholarship related to the Brontës. You will find your assigned date for the oral report on the Calendars page. The oral report grade counts for 5% of the final course grade.

Please note: you must complete all assignments, including the Coffeehouse assignments and the oral report, to receive a passing grade in this course.
