INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMES
Individual Learning Outcomes
Students who have completed English 213 will demonstrate:
- understanding of British literature since 1700 in relation to British history, including literary history;
- knowledge of the individual writers and works on the syllabus;
- the ability to analyze and interpret individual works of literature using appropriate evidence, conventions, and critical terminology;
- the ability to write persuasively about literature, adhering to principles of logic and conventions of Standard English usage.
Community Learning Outcomes
The Engl 213-01 (Fall 2006) community will:
- produce new knowledge (new for this community) about British literature since 1700 and its contexts;
- share knowledge about British literature since 1700 and its contexts in accordance with scholarly conventions;
- discuss and debate ideas about British literature since 1700 and its contexts in ways that respect the diversity of the community.
