Expectations for our Tutors
- Present a respectful and responsible manner - You are representing SUNY Geneseo
- Work with the teacher you are paired with to develop a "semester-plan"
- Tutor at least 1 to 6 hours a week
- You will need to be available during the school day, between 7:30 am to 3:30 pm to be adequately matched with a teacher - This is the time frame that most tutors are requested for
- Keep an open correspondence with the teacher - Whether it be a regular meeting between the two of you or simply getting in contact by phone or email
- Do not be afraid to ask the teacher questions or request feedback/suggestions
- Do not allow the teacher to leave you alone with a class or have you teach an entire class by yourself
- Must attend one of the tutor training sessions offered before beginning to work in the classroom - Not mandatory for you to attend again if you have participated in our programs and attended training in a previous semester
