Summer Cooking Classes

Campus Auxiliary Services (CAS) at SUNY Geneseo is excited to announce our summer cooking class series. In these applied learning classes, participants will have the opportunity to prepare fresh entrées from prep to completion. Each chef-led class will provide participants with various cooking skills and techniques for each cuisine type. Participants will have the opportunity to indulge in the given cuisine at the end of each class. All classes will take place on the SUNY Geneseo campus, at Red Jacket Dining Hall. 

CAS will adhere to all CDC safety guidelines to ensure proper social distancing is adhered to. Masks are required for this event, and all proper PPE will be provided if needed.

Gastro Pub | June 13 | 11:00 am

In this applied learning class, participants will have the opportunity to prepare fresh entreés from prep to completion. Our Gastro Pub class provides attendees with an opportunity to complete a full-course Gastro Pub meal. This tasting event comes with instructions on making soups, appetizers, an entree, and a dessert.

Mediterranean | June 24 | 5:30 pm

In this applied learning class, participants will have the opportunity to prepare fresh entreés from prep to completion. Our Mediterranean class offers attendees an opportunity to explore the spices and herbs of Mediterranean cuisine while teaching them ways to blend traditional Mediterranean flavors for everyday dishes.

Sushi Making | July 9 | 5:30 pm

In this applied learning class, participants will have the opportunity to prepare fresh entreés from prep to completion. Our Sushi class will teach attendees to prepare rice properly, cut and roll different ingredients, and create a gourmet sushi platter.

Tuscan Cooking - Homemade Pasta | July 18 | 11:00 am

In this applied learning class, participants will have the opportunity to prepare fresh entreés from prep to completion. Our Tuscan cooking class is all about homemade pasta! Attendees will make different types of pasta, including pici, one of Siena Italy's traditional recipes. Instructors will explain how to use simple flavor-forward sauces while using local foods with Tuscan flavors.
