The Department of Student Health and Counseling opened the new South Village Health Center (SVHC) in Onondaga Hall in Fall 2019 offering individualized primary and medical health care and reproductive health services.
The external Onondaga entrance faces the Saratoga Townhouses.
South Village Health Center hours:
- Primary care services: Monday–Thursday, 8 a.m.–12 p.m.
- Reproductive Health Services of Livingston County: Friday, 9 a.m.–1 p.m.
- Closed during school breaks and holidays.
The center provides easier access to the students, primarily first-years, who reside on the south side of campus. Counseling services, currently in Onondaga South, will continue to be available there.
All registered students are welcome to use the South Village Health Center. Appointments can be scheduled online at myhealth.geneseo.edu or by calling 585-245-5752. All contact with the Student Health and Counseling Department is confidential.
Services within the new SVHC are covered by the Student Health Fee, which is different than private health insurance. However, the College recommends students carry insurance for situations such as urgent care and hospital visits, x-rays, and for certain lab work and prescription drugs that are not carried in the campus dispensary.
The Student Health and Counseling Department is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC) and received accreditation as a Medical Home in January 2019.
